My Review:

My dog has many food allergies, so we have to be super picky about what we give her, even her treats. She is a 6 month old full breed Beagle Puppy. We've tried several different products and this one is a winner. They contain no corn, soy, wheat, poultry by-product meal or artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.

I was actually given a variety of flavors and types for her to try. A few did not work for us, so I will give you a quick overview of them here.

  • White Meat Chicken CUTLETS - The CUTLETS are hard to break into smaller pieces. They are hard and chewy. Despite it being difficult to break into smaller pieces, they certainly can be but no matter how small of a chunk i'd break off to feed her, she wouldn't ever chew it all the way before swallowing and would end up throwing up the piece whole. The CUTLETS do not work for us.
  • White Chicken & Carrot AND White Chicken & Apples JERKY STRIPS - The JERKY STRIPS are softer and work great. They smell yummy. They are easy to break into smaller pieces and the dog loves them. I do not think she has a preference between the chicken and carrot or the chicken and apples, she likes them both.
  • Chicken & Barley AND Salmon & Oats BISCUITS - Our dog is allergic to salmon so didn't try those. We gave her the Chicken & Barley and she has done great with them. I wasn't sure if she might have allergy issues since we know she has some grain allergies, but they are perfect. Out of all the different types, I like the BISCUITS the best for our needs. They break easily so can be feed in several different sizes depending on if using for training or just for a treat.

We like the Purina Beyond brand and find it comparable to the more expensive brands like Blue Buffalo, but definitely not as expensive and can be found in more stores.

Rating and Why:

(5/5 HungryHollys)

When you have a dog with allergies you really become grateful to find less expensive, yet quality items to feed them. While some of these products did not work for us, they are a great all around product. Even those cutlets that don't work for our dog, I can see working for a dog that likes a rawhide type treat.

Where to Buy:

You can buy these in store at Walmart (but call first to see if your Walmart carries them. Our local Walmart carries the Beyond cat food, but not the Beyond Dog food. Grr. They also do not carry any of the treats..yet)

Or you can buy them online at Amazon:

I received these products complimentary from BzzAgent for free or at a discount in exchange for my honest unbiased review. All opinions are my own. Free or for full price, my opinion is my opinion.
